FEATURING 3 MEMBERS OF

ABOUT
In 2007, LA Wrecking Crew session legends Hal Blaine, Don Randi and Jerry Cole entered Sage and Sound studios in Hollywood California. They were there to recreate eight of their most iconic hits for a soundtrack to
the upcoming documentary "MAKAHA, the story of the Originator".
In just two days, the guys recorded new versions of their biggest hits. These performances find Hal Blaine, Don Randi and Jerry Cole in prime form...playing with a youthful energy and joy. They are joined on four tracks by founding Beach Boys lead guitarist and vocalist, David Marks. Sadly, this was to be the last time Hal, Don and Jerry would record together. It is a loving tribute to Hal and Jerry and a fitting reminder of their brilliance.

Hal Blaine
Drums and percussion.
Hal is the most recorded drummer and percussionist in history. Hal was omnipresent in the LA studio scene from 1963-1976 as a drummer, percussionist, band leader and contractor. Hal and his contemporaries completely changed the way music was created and recorded, sometimes to the dismay of the older musicians, who said Hal and his "crew" were "wrecking the music business". It was Hal who coined the term "The Wrecking Crew" when he heard a member of the old guard state “these young guys in jeans and smoking cigarettes are wrecking the music business”
Don Randi
Piano, organ and keyboards.
Don came to national prominence as a young VERVE recording artist and quickly became a first call keyboardist in LA. Don's pop resume includes recordings with ,among many others, Phil Spector, The Beach Boys, Linda Ronstadt, Buffalo Springfield, The Monkees, Dean Martin, Bette Midler, Frank Sinatra, Neil Diamond, Elvis Presley and Nancy Sinatra. Don was also Nancy's musical director and band leader. Don's career as a jazz musician is equally diverse, lending his playing to recordings by , Cannon Ball Adderly, Julie London, Chet Baker, Quincy Jones, Sarah Vaughn, Frank Zappa and David Axelrod
Jerry Cole
Electric and acoustic guitars.
Jerry's first claim was as a guitarist , along with Glen Campbell, in The Champs with their hit song "Tequila". Jerry recorded numerous albums as a solo artist, at the same time being in high demand in the LA studios from 1963-73. Jerry's recording discography includes The Beach Boys, The Byrds, Bobby Darin, Paul Revere and the Raiders and Nancy Sinatra. Jerry was a much sought after bandleader who's resume includes work with and for Dean Martin, Roger Miller, Ricky Nelson, Andy Willliams and Sonny and Cher.
David Marks
Electric guitar.
David rose to fame as guitarist and vocalist, at the age of 15, with the original Beach Boys. David's distinctive playing can be heard on their first four albums. That's David on Surfin Safari, 409, Surfin USA, Surfer Girl, In My Room , Be True to Your School and Shut Down. After leaving the Beach Boys in late 1963, David studied at Berklee College of Music and began a prolific career as a session player and touring guitarist. David's post Beach Boys career includes work with Delaney and Bonnie, Warren Zevon, Leon Russell, Delbert McClinton and musician/actor Gary Busey. David rejoined the Beach Boys in 1997 and toured with the group on their 50th Anniversary tour in 2012.
